(The Masters Soap Makers)

As a professional soap maker, you obviously take your traditionally made products seriously. And, of course, you do not simply want to sell your customers a good, attractive and original product, but you also want it to be a product that is guaranteed safe to use.

Make sure that you join Les Maîtres Savonniers, it’s a part of Gildewerk Quality Systems. With this hallmark, you distinguish yourself and demonstrate that your soap products are safe and make use of the best recipes and ingredients.

Learn how to use the right materials, ingredients and additives to make a beautiful final product. It’s a fun and informative experience!

Follow the Traditional Soapmaking course (1-1.5 days) and become a certified soap maker from the ‘Les Maîtres Savonniers’ guild.

Once the training is complete, you as a new Master Soap Maker will be familiar with the best way of making the loveliest soap products. To prove this, you’ll receive a valuable personalised certificate valid for life.

So, what will you learn during this course? The focus is on quality, safety and hygiene. In order to guarantee quality, working under the most hygienic conditions possible is very important. This will mean that the fewest possible contaminants end up in your final product. Safety also plays an important role. During the saponification process, natron lye and oil/butter are mixed together. Natron lye is a base solution, which is harmful to the skin. It must therefore be carefully processed so that the end product is genuinely safe.

What will you learn during the Traditional Soapmaking course?

Before we start on how you’ll be making soap, you will have to thoroughly clean everything. There’s no way of knowing what the equipment has been through since the last time it was used. This applies to the machinery as well as the ladles, bowls and other tools that you’ll be using.

The training will be tailormade to suit your preferences. We will focus on the various production options, but there are a range of other possibilities within those options. Examples include natural or even BIO products. The correct processing of the products forms a key topic. We will also handle the storage and preservation of all ingredients and end products.

A lot of additives are available for making your end product even more special. How about bath salts with rose petals or a bar of soap containing lavender seeds? These are all natural products straight from the garden. And when products are harvested from nature, the risk of contamination is high. There could be bird droppings, insects, dust, etc, and these are things that you don’t want in soap. A Master Soap Maker can, however, get around this problem. As long as he or she follows the right process and keeps good hygiene in mind. And of course, everything should be meticulously cleaned and neatly packed away at the end of the day.
